St. Sophia

Very little is known about St. Sophia, only that she lived in Egypt in the third century. She became a martyr in Alexandria when she was beheaded during the reign of Emperor Claudinus (or Claudius). Those who perished with her included St. Irene and St. Castor. Her feast day is celebrated on September 18th. She is not to be confused with St. Sofia of Rome, widow and mother of Sts. Faith, Hope and Love who were martyred in Rome in the second century. If you would like to honor St. Sophia with a beautiful stained glass work of art in your home or place of worship, please contact us. We will be happy to show you our wide range of stained glass windows, door panels and other products designed to enhance and brighten your church, home, or office.
